Although TT is similar to Harvest and other time tracking software in its functionality, there are a few terms and concepts that are new or we use differently. Below is a breakdown of the primary components of TT that you should understand to track your time and use the dashboard.
Talent
- Talent refers to the contractors who support Trusty Oak clients.
- Historically, we’ve used the term Virtual Assistant (VA), but we are expanding our services beyond traditional VA work, so we wanted the term to be more inclusive.
Clients
- Clients are the Trusty Oak customers you support.
Projects
- Projects are the work you’re currently assigned to for each Client.
- Typically, this is a subscription with a set monetary budget. (Our legacy clients have subscriptions based on hours per month.)
- It can also include Flat Rate Projects and other non-subscription services.
Rates
- Rates are the type of work you’re doing, but the critical component is that they’re tied to a specific rate.
- Most Talent will only have a single rate available per project, called “Generalist.” This is your normal hourly rate.
- Some talent offer specialized services, those rates are titled “Specialist”
- Hourly rates are indicated by a green hourglass icon.
- We also offer flat-rates for Flat-Rate projects. Flat-rates are indicated by a purple paper icon.
Time Entries
- Time Entries are the individual records of the time you’ve tracked on a given Client/Project/Rate.
- We often use the term “time logs” synonymously with Time Entries.
